In my latest bargain lot there are several of these wire earrings. Either marked or test as 9ct.
Any idea of age of this type or are they undateable?
Missing some dangles from the bottom. I’ll have to find something complementary to go onto them- any ideas as to what would have been there- long, short, glass or gems? Or can I do what I like :hilarious: within reason!
    Thanks for looking.

    My guess is ca 1900.
My choice of dangle would be a glass teardrop shape, not too long.

look Italian to me. since always. every Nonna has a pair since childhood.
first used without additional "dangles" started from 10 to 14 of age to get the girls used to them and don't get hanging lobes like certain African tribes, then with added weight at their own gusto..

If they are marked 9ct, they are likely to be British. You can find similar ones all over Europe, just with different marks, or no marks at all.

I suspect that they had teardrop shaped pearls.

That would look nice. I’ll see what I can dig out!
Two pairs are marked 9ct or my interpretation is that as the wires are tiny and the marks are wider than the wires if that makes sense. The others test as gold but look to be unmarked.
