A couple of more or less complete flintlock mechanisms, and a load of springs, cocks and other lock parts.

Are these likely to find a market, or are they the junk that they look?

WOW! I don't know but I would think them salable. They would at least show what those parts should look like.
I could make a great art piece of them. Good for steampunk too.

Look like reproduction parts for making guns from kits, but offer the whole collection for a reas starting price and it should sell.

I knew a guy who said he hunted with a flintlock ("flinter" he called it), and then there's all those recreationists, so I guess they have a modern cult following.

Black powder hunting is a "season" here in CT, so odds are somebody would use these.

Looking at the stuff in hand it does seem to be all stripped out of old guns rather than kit stuff which is not really in character for the old man.

I don't think you could sell the percussion caps on Ebay, but they ought to be an easy sale elsewhere.

All the steel gun parts in the 1:38pm post look to me to be reproduction castings. Note that most are unfinished. I can't tell about the brass items.

I'm friends with the Yarmouth Minutemen and they'd probably go for this for spare parts.

I don't do ebay any more, they will go in a local auction room to find a new home. Pretty well all the hoard will go to auction this autumn. Books to a specialist book auctioneer.

    Hey Shane.
AF said, on Aug 2nd , that they were going to a local auction.

That said, offers to buy or sell have specific areas here , like the sell , & wanted forums.

The Conversations INBOX at the top right would also be the only place where putting your phone # & email address , will not be picked up by google, bing or other Bots that troll this site looking for such sensitive information .

Do you still have all of the old tins? If so, please contact me at *email address removed*. I would be very interested in chatting about them.

    Cheers,
    Will
