Featured Any Ideas on what this is? Or how much its worth?

View attachment 368357 Hello guys! Picked this piece up recently and have no idea what it is as I cannot find a similar piece. There are no markings on it and I have no idea if it has any silver content or what it is made of. It isn't large, maybe 6" at the base. Thanks for any help I may get

I have seen that one several times already, maybe mine is a knock-off remake?

 

Smaller and less flamboyantly decorated doesn't really qualify as a remake.

 

No marks on it anywhere?

 

Id have guessed silver as well,but its got that awful Tarnx dipped sheen to it. Thats probably one of those silver marks you will hunt for till your eyes blur,then later glance at it and it pops out!

 

I'll be darn - just a fancy basket - because a woven basket doesn't make the apples look High Class enough!

 

I have looked several times for marks and cannot seem to find any unfortunately. I will keep you guys updated if anything sticks out to me suddenly. Any other ideas?

 

The only place that any wear will show is on the bottoms of the ball feet. Anything to report?

I would not be afraid scratch one of the crevasses on the bottom. But that's just me.

 

On the back side, back off the archer's foot a bit, at first I thought it was an anchor, but now that it's posted I'm thinking NOT so much.........

I certainly wish that was a mark, however it is just the trick of the light and shadows, I just checked under high magnification. I'm stumped

We do have a member that might be able to help because spotting obscure pieces of silver is her superpower.

Yes, what would that do, we need to know..

 

As the banana peel starts to rot, a chemical will be released that causes the silver to tarnish. Faster than just letting the silver item sit on a shelf.

Of course that assumes the item is actually silver or silver plated. If it's not, it won't work.

 

Yup, it takes away that Tarnex look and restores a patina.
