    Hi,
Are these still considered rice pearls? They are bigger than the ones I normally come across. They have a great luster, iridescent sheen on some and what really gets me is there is no clasp. The spacer balls are 14k! Why would they put 14k gold spacer balls on these? I’m not complaining but it doesn’t make sense. I acid tested a few times. It’s almost 32” in length. Got these from an older woman’s estate sale

    What say ye?

I think they're real nice! Yes, rice pearls.
With 14k ribbed beads, I'd say they cost a pretty penny when they were new in the 1980s or so.
    I'd wear 'em!

That’s what I was thinking. I mean those balls are hollow and I don’t think they weigh a ton but it was a nice surprise

I have a bracelet with 14k spacers in it and I see the necklaces and bracelets with gold on clasp and spacers come up constantly. They don't resale for big money it seems but they are actually very pretty with a good iridescence.

I know, I’m actually thinking it might be worth more in gold but I hate to break this up. I have nothing in it

here's an idea.....restring the pearls with round black glass spacers....& scrap the gold !!

I bought mine with the intention of taking a pearl out to fix a lavalier and then I was really charmed by it. I don't think photos really capture how pretty and luminous they are. Yours has more spacers than most so that might carry it.

it's lovely, but maybe harder to find a buyer with all that gold in it..;)

    That’s true!!!Thats what I’m thinking. I
have never restrung anything but I’m sure I could find a home for the pearls.
