Featured Boomerang?

    The auction I purchased this from had it listed as a vintage boomerang. I can't find any others like it...

    Its 31" long, made of wood and leather/skin on the end, and seems to be missing a handle, where there's glue residue. It has a slight twist or torque along its length, and once had a word perhaps a name painted on it, now gone.

    Any direction people can advise is appreciated!

    Sure doesn't look like it could function like a boomerang.

    Did the put a long arrow / spear notched to the extended end....grab the handle ..and toss the arrow........

    You can find more information using the term "woomera", one of the Aboriginal terms for such a spear thrower.

    I agree, a woomera. A pretty slender one, many are more shield-shaped.
