This brass and enamel (cloisonne?) container came in a box lot at auction. It's 3"D x 3.25"H. Any guesses as to age?...and why does the N look backwards on the marking? Thank you for any insight! Mid 20th century from the looks, errors in lettering not uncommon on Chinese items from this period - same as we would make errors trying to spell Chinese words without the internet when you are not a native speaker.

The enamel looks like it is fired in rather than cloisonne, more like a champleve style.
