Here's a simple little Broach we picked years ago at a Flea. It's 2 3/8" wide by 3/8" high (dome to base excluding pin). The only material seems to be hammered, twisted & incised copper.Any info would be very appreciated. Brch1.jpg Brch2.jpg Brch3.jpg

I just had to spend some time trying to figure out what reuil means. Apparently it translates from French to English and it means "the suburbs".

Thank you all for the help.So it's probably French ( I'd say 'Gaulic' not 'Celtic').I like it's kind of a blend of Deco (swirl wing shape),Arts & Crafts (hand worked/Hammered) & MCM little spaghetti twirls (kind of MCM).
I'll have to google 'R.Breuil' and find out more.

Your pin is very attractive! I would call it Arts&Crafts but I don't know if that is appropriate for France. It would be stunning worn by an "Autumn".

That looks all Arts and Crafts to me. I wonder if the mark was an address?? for the studio since those pieces tended to be produced small-scale.

Very nice brooch, Bosko. I'd say your period estimation is correct. If it were Dutch I would call it Amsterdam School.
    The Gauls were Celts.;)
There were, and still are, quite a lot of Celts on the Continent. Even in the so-called Germanic Netherlands, where names of some towns are of Celtic origin, and there is Celtic influence in folk tradition, especially in my neck of the woods.

Think this is probably MCM. There was a bit of an A&C revival then, with the hammering. Also, the deco lines were big as well.
