Featured First Nations Carving

    Hi all,
    I picked this piece up that is signed with initials but I think there is something else written off to the side. I've included 2 photos, can anyone else see writing?
    I found another piece signed the same but they didn't know who did it, was dated 2003 - link below.

    maybe something written here? I think I can see HE then something written underneath DSCF6876.jpg I tried to darken it to see if the letters stood out more

    it's too new and unremarkable ...4 me to know the siggy....

    that mask of his has a long way to go to be any good.....& 450...is full tourist retail.... nice piece of red cedar though..

    thanks komokwa:) it might just be Whale and Raven, that could be a W under the other letters (or maybe I can see it now that you have mentioned it)

    a lot of guys write what the carving is about.....not unusual.....but seeing the writing on yours is near impossible...... fer me at least..

    It looks like a killer whale and raven to me. I can't make anything of the writing, do you think it says that? Or maybe orca and raven?

    It is not a signature I am familiar with, but is likely from one of the Musqueam or Squamish carving families, somewhere around the southern parts of BC.

    Yes, you see this type of carving a lot in the Vancouver area.

    I could be wrong but I believe there is something written there, but yes, very hard to see:)
