Gaudy butter dish

    Picked this up yesterday. It's either a butter or cheese dish. No clues to identify it really other than it's distinctive appearance.

    Cheese dish, I think with that lid shape. Not sure I'd call it gaudy dutch or welsh because they incorporate imari colours and designs.

    It’s airbrushed rather than flow blue. I’d think early twentieth.

    I'd bet on German, probably Bavarian.

    Aww, it's not vulgar, just a little slap-dash in decoration! :smuggrin:

    As long as it sells for vulgar amounts of money, I'm in! Alas, porcelain and pottery sell for pennies these days. You can get formal fine china for less than paper plates in some cases.
