Hello, we are trying to find out more about this antique wooden bust of what I was told to be George Washington, however there are no written or identifiable marks on the piece that I can see.
It stands roughly a foot tall and definitely hand carved.

That does not appear to be George Washington.

The clothing is more mid 19th century. He looks familiar, for some reason I keep thinking Civil War .Hes very nice.

What about George Walton? I know he’s still a little earlier but seems more like him in the face to me. B39E754F-6C49-419F-B823-BFCE18FF2E44.jpeg

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

George Walton is still too early. As @johnnycb09 mentioned, the clothing style is mid-19th century. The lapels on the jacket of the bust, the necktie, and collar are all from later than roughly 1840 or so.

Doesn't look in the least like G. Washington. There is always the possibility that this man is not someone whose name went down in the history of nations.

True, there is just something very familiar about him that I can’t quite put my finger on

Good try! He’s old but I think it’s older then that.

As above, he's following 19th century fashion (short hair, bow tie) not 18th century (queue, stock tie.) Given the four holes in his base, he's been mounted on something so I'd think a distinguished statesman not unlikely, though may be regional rather than national. May be architectural salvage from an older building.

    I'm leaning towards Daniel Webster.

    Different eyebrows and mouth though.
The inclination of the head of Studio's bust is also quite characteristic. Could be a tall man and good listener.

He looks like present day Dutch entertainer Herman van Veen.
