Watching “Quest” tv, old History Channel stuff, I “learned” that the British were fearful of running out of water during the WWI Battle of Cambrai, because they used the water to hide the smoke from their machine guns. Right! Anyone who knows anything knows the Vickers machine gun was water-cooled, and the water was needed for the cooling jackets. They did mention that in an emergency, urine could be substituted. To hide gun smoke? I can almost see it now, but I don’t want to. The producers should have shelled out for some competent technical advisors.
