Featured Huge peacock hair comb

    Not usually my sort of thing but I saw this at the car boot sale and couldn’t resist.
    It is huge! 11” tall and 9” across.
    @Any Jewelry I know this may be one of your areas of expertise if you can help please?
    Is it plastic or Celluloid? It reacts to UV gently green but I know some plastics do that.
    Is it modern souvenir stuff or older?

    It is a Spanish 'peineta', a decorative comb. These are often worn with either flowers or a 'mantilla', a lace headscarf.
    As the lady said, celluloid or plastic.:)
    Fairly modern, Spanish and Hispanic ladies still wear these for certain occasions, but tourists also buy them as souvenir.

    K, is that a repair in the last pic, the top of the tine on the right?
    (I swear it wasn't butterfingers AJ.... this time...:()

    Yes, one tine/ prong has been repaired. An effective if not pretty repair. At least they did rather than losing the tine.

    Absolutely. It can still be worn, and hair will cover the break.
