Not sure if this is the right place to post but couldn't think of another category. Does anybody know what this is? My best guess is a letter opener. It looks like it says H&N on the back but I can't make out the markings. Also Im not sure but it looks like it could be jade to me and also there is a little pink stone that I'm curious about. Any help would be awesome!

You have a nice 9ct gold letter opener. The pink bead may be coral.

Im thinking its a fancy phone dialer. Wouldnt a letter opener have a flat edge? In the days of dial phones a lady wouldnt want to ruin her manicure so she used a phone dialer. Its lovely .

I had a 14k on a pendant recently that hadn’t been struck cleanly and I thought it was Chinese text!

huh i would have never thought of that! I was wondering about it not having a flat edge, but then again I just looked at a phone dialer and it didn't have a point like this. hmmmm

I don't remember it being flat on one side. I'll have to dig it out and check.

There are lots of letter openers/paper knives which are in the form of swords. I hadn’t thought of phone diallers either but wouldn’t a jade pointed end scratch the dial? Didn’t people usually use the blunt end of a pen or pencil?

i'd say it could almost be a pendant or brooch.....
it looks too small , round and dainty for a letter opener...
    it's too

Eh, my hand, largish for a woman, is about three inches across the fingers, my brother's hand is at least an inch wider, I dated a man whose hand made mine look like a child's, and conversely, a good friend, female, of average stature, has very long slender fingers and hands, making mine look gigantic even though our fingers are about the same length...

Yes...I understand that....I was suggesting a more relative less exact length of less than 6 inches and more that 3....
my meaning was that from the photo, one would understand that the item was not 2 inches long, nor would it be 10 inches long.;)

I am the 1st one here to chastise the non disclosure of an exact size.....but around Christmas....I can usually be found to be less harsh & demanding...
    usually....:):)
