I'm Helping Ukraine by shopping at their thrift store three days a week.
    This little tray is 9 1/4" X 9" X 5/8" thick
There is what appears to be the rising sun on the four corners.
All the lighter color is also carved into the wood, including all the calligraphy on the back.
Was hoping to get some kind of determination on age, and possibly some translation help.

I believe the building and location is Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine in Fukuoka, Japan.

It sure does look like the main shrine. Thanks @Roaring20s
That would make the flowers Plum blossoms.
