Probably an 'out in left field' guess but: Priscilla Rub might be the fancy name they gave the finish color?

Portable dressing mirror 40s-50s. Looks like maple.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I found this listing that shows "Priscilla Rub" on the bottom of a table. They claim it is the finish name, but it's a very different color from yours so I doubt it.

There is also this Worthpoint listing of a small table in a different style. It has a Heywood Wakefield tag on the bottom. The listing claims it also says "Priscilla Rub" on the bottom but they do not include a photo of that.

Thank you everyone for your quick replies! It does sound like it most likely was a style of finish. It's been interesting searching for even a small scrap of its history.
