    Happy New year my friends

A few local auction wins from Monday
Was supposed to pick them up today, but had too much whisky last night and didn't wake up till 3.00pm

Everything sold at £5 starting bid hammer price, but the Amber (if it is), took me to £11

There's so much cheap amber necklaces floating around at the moment, don't know if it's a good buy or not, looks big though

Just fun to show before receiving them

Got in a massive bidding war over a huge lapis necklace but relented

Any thoughts or ideas on the items appreciated

If the round beads are cherry amber, you scored! Even if bakelite, they are good. Like the dragon tray alot. Better than most we see.

I suspect the round ones are carnelian, Chinese on silk. Nice amber chips on that other one. The two silver necklaces look fairly modern, decent enough. That black and amber or whatever is interesting, as are the swirls.

The necklaces are nice, but I'm with Brad; that dragon tray is great.

yeah my favourite the dragon tray, quite small though i think its gonna be,sold as a pin tray

i think the red beads are glass, still nice though, described as carnelian, but nothing turns out as described, ever, so who knows

thanks obb, im interested to see about the black and yellow bead one. did a bit of research before bidding and there are examples of jet and amber bead together necklaces

doesnt look like amber from here, but maybe just needs a clean

thanks buddy, happy new year to you my friend

will be interesting to find out what metal it is, as the high relief points are worn silver coloured not brass or copper

yeah i'm in a similar thought about it. looking at others online at the moment, theres a huge amount of this type, even knotted. but not at this size

if when i get it and it looks to have no age in construction, i bet thats what it is

I liked those red, white and blue glass beads - Italian lampwork? I'd be busily restringing those and adding a clasp. The yellow and black glass looks like exactly that - 20s Czech if I don't miss my guess. The yellow may glow under blacklight though.

More like dyed "candy jade" or glass. But again, it's making my fingers twitch.
