Featured Seller insists this rabbit figurine is Meissen which I doubt...

    but I'm curious what people think of this anyhow. THe workmanship, the cross around his neck, the songbook, etc. what does it mean and where do you think its from?

    I can't see this model in the Meissen catalogues, but it certainly looks of high quality.

    Isnt that an Iron cross around his neck ? Pity about the chips. I agree its very good quality.

    I think it is meant to be a regular cross on a silk ribbon, which would make the rabbit a she.;)
    I've been trying to figure out the song, thinking it might give more background on the figurine, but the photo is is too blurred. I can read the first words "Ein Knabe", a boy, but there are countless Knabe songs.:(
    Maybe the girl rabbit is pining after a lost love?:arghh:
