This is a pair of gold earrings I got at that probate sale along with lot's of gold and silver jewelry. I bought it all for very cheap.

These earrings are stamped what looks like " Si " 14k . Anybody know if Si is the maker or what ? The diamonds measure approx. 1/4" across

    Thank You

Think that's a princess cut, Billy. You can compare against this chart.

The photos are too pixelated to tell anything.

Self-diffusion of Si under anhydrous conditions at 1 atm has been measured in natural zircon. The source of diffusant for experiments was a mixture of ...

I suspect it has something to do with Zircons - but gem-

I suspect it has to do with cubic zirconia.

have all your images uploaded to dropbox? that's what I do on android. I know it's a pain working on a phone.

The plastic keeps do seem to indicate a commercial/man-made gem - just my opinion. But maybe a natural zircon is worth more than a ? You'll find out, I'm sure. :)

More likely it's the manufacture's symbol and nothing to due with the stones.

Seems unlikely to me that anything stamped on setting would ID the stone.

    Or what @Hollyblue said. :hilarious:

I don't really think the mark has to do with the nature of the stone, but do suspect they are CZ. It has a higher refractive index than diamond, so looks pretty flashy.

The pictures are really terrible (sorry, Billy), but the circled spot makes me think inclusion and I would have them checked out.

My understanding from the first message is that they are marked 14K. Which, by no means, rules out CZ (or other synthetics/lab grown).

EDITED TO ADD: Of course, that might just be light reflection.

The "plastic" are Comfort clutch ear nuts and have nothing to due with any type of stone expensive or cheap.
