    Hey everyone, wasn't sure what subsection to post this in but do you reckon this netsuke is new.

    It was in a cabinet at my grandads house and shocked me a little that he had one

    Looks like resin to me. They are cranking them out in China, Japanese signature & all.

    I agree - not a natural material. And it doesn't have to be all that "new" to be resin.

    I agree; it's a molded piece. Cute though - little guy banging a drum and taking a nap, or some such.
