Featured Silver decanter rim mark

Grabbed this today. Silver rim had some really bad black marks on it but these have now polished off completely. I have been looking at the hall mark which is a bit odd. Some kind of import mark for London so maybe the K signifies 1984? I think the Mn and Wb is for Mappin and Webb.

 

I agree on all your choices for date and sponsor. Can't tell you where it was actually made and imported from.

 

This Mappin & Webb mark was in use from 1983 to 89, so it matches the date letter too.

 

Cool thank you. There is a K mark which is later but it looked slightly different but I wasn't sure. This confirms it thank you.

 

Just found this similar one from a year later. Same mark other than the date letter. CBZ Holland label on it. Maybe it's from the same supplier or maybe they had multiple suppliers at the same time.

Good work with the pics through your loupe/magnifier. Those shots can give people trouble.

 

Thanks. It's a struggle lining the camera up with the focal point of the lens and getting it to autofocus at the same time. Then just as you click the button it all goes blurred again. Ayeeeee
