VintageAntique Turkish Indian Kilim?

    Vintage or Antique Turkish Indian Kilim?
    prayer rug?
    Only info I have on this beauty is that it has a tag that reads: Turkish Kilim. It is so lovely, with a flat weave of colorful geometric shapes. There are long tassels on each end. The rug measures approximately 36” wide X 60” long (not including tassels. The tassels measure 14” long).
    I have taken photos outside in the dark under a light on my driveway. The colors are nearest to the last close-up photo.
    I would love to know more about this rug and the value! Thank you!

    I remember kilims being all the rage in the late 70s & no doubt have had a market since then as well.

    A "prayer rug" is most often recognized by having a design that "points" in one direction so it can oriented toward Mecca when in use.

    I started my collection in approx 1974 when I worked for a N African/MidEast dealer.

    Agree it’s very pretty, newer and not of significant value but certainly salable.
