I think I asked about this some years ago, but my mind is foggy on the details.
    Does anyone recognize the artist?

Olive? I think it very unlikely that solving the name will lead anywhere.

Olive was my take, too, but could possibly be Aline as well. I would make a point of artist's lousy, unreadable sigs, but then, mine is, too!

Caricaturist Aline Fruhauf? Looks like her sig. but most of the items I can find have her full name, not just the first name?

    Similar style though.

The name does sorta, kinda. look like hers, but you are right about the last name.
Still, I will see what I can find out about her.
    Thanks!

It seems that she also included the date in most of her things as well.
    sigh . . .

Messilane, believe me this is a wild-eyed guess, but I am getting a "New Yorker" magazine or even a "Fortune" magazine vibe. Perhaps that is because I keep seeing what I would term "Pat Nixon" era women --sheath dresses in a length right for that era, shoes on the ladies which look about right for those years also, hairdos right for the era, as they line up with "businessmen" (probably "hubbies") reading the news. Also those women look "built" about right for that period of time, even from the rear.

    Just a thought.

That was my feeling as well. LOL

alas, the stoopy thing is down stairs, so I will have to have my husband go hunt it up.
