    Hi guys,

This weighs a ton and is approx 20" tall. It looks like it is made of red clay and the bottom appears as though this might have some age to it. What would have been the use to lock a jar of stuff? I did think I saw something that kinda resembled it and it was a chocolate jar but it was not really close. I do know I came across a modern-day version with a barcode on it and left it behind. It was just labeled house decor. I could not even begin to guess what country this would be in. Does anyone have any opinions or information on this? I just noticed that there is some writing on the bottom at about 1 to 2 pm in the last pic. I cannot read it.

Thank you for any help I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving

I have no idea but isn’t there a type of jar like this that gets buried whilst the cabbage pickles?. Cant think what it’s called now:confused:. That’s highly unlikely to be anything to do with your jar though :hilarious:
Edit- It’s come to me- Kimchi!. As I say,I wouldn’t begin to know what yours is but the name of the Korean pickely stuff was bugging me.

The one in the link is only 7 1/2". I wonder what you'd lock away in a 20" pot?

To be fair I have to say the chocolate I hide is not so I can eat it, it is semisweet or bittersweet I use for baking. I learned long ago either I have to hide it or buy it the day I plan on baking with it - or it is long gone!!!!!!!

Unsweetened chocolate is the only one I can trust to keep in the pantry :wacky:
