    I don't know but sounds about right. We forget there's a reason they're called 'compacts'. I do remember when 'Cornsilk' came on the market in the early 70s. It was supposed to be especially for oily skin & the thing the ads had to try to convince you was extra special was that it was loose powder. Don't know if it's still sold.

    I have sort of vowed not to start collecting compacts & sold a great one my mother had that had a slipcase with bristles on the closed end so you could brush yourself off. Lid had an enameled Miami deco motif. Went to Japan. But just couldn't resist this Stratnoid. Was under the spell of Gosford Park:

    P.S., the Stratnoid was designed to hold loose powder.
