A label on the back of one here gives an address in Banstead, Surrey. She also has ARCA after her name, for Associate of the Royal College of Art.

The address leads to this, according to which her maiden name was Olive Maude Norris, and she married Harry Collett in Bromley in 1929:

According to her own wikitree page she was born 7 Aug 1901 in Bromley ; died 1974 in Sutton, Surrey.

Very nice. Deserves a better frame.

The frame isn't horrible, but it's in want of gilding. The fabric inset was a very 60s thing, which makes sense. The off white at least doesn't interfere with the picture.

The frame is perfect, of period and as unpretentious as the artist's title 'The fields opposite'.

That frame works for the painting . . . open, light & simple - like the clouds in the piece. I'm in the habit of leaving works in the frame I find them in unless the pairing is a real trainwreck.
