Lab stones in 14k(?) mens' rings; flux-melt sapphires and rubies started in the Victorian era. They were made for watch innards, and later used in Deco jewelry as a standard. I'd wear either in a heartbeat. The rings could be Victorian all the way up to Victorian Revival.

Found in the thrift store today.
Moonstone ring, unmarked. Acid tested 14k when I got home. I guess they thought it was costume.
    I paid $18.00
Hah! I know a gold ring when I see one!

Just a little something from Sunday's antique show, $30 sterling, and I think rhodalite garnet ring. I loved the pear-shaped and cushion-cut stones. I have some more pics, some people seemed to have low prices trying to clear things Lumii_20260519_135440219.jpg while others jacked theirs way high....

I live for this! It's what keeps me going into the thrifts.

Did you buy this garnet ring? The stones almost look like rubellite.
    It's magnificent!

Provincial Biedermeier/Empire chest of drawers with strong architectural lines rooted in the Empire tradition, yet softened by the restrained simplicity of Biedermeier. Modest and relatively straightforward in construction, but veneered in some of the finest flame birch I have seen in quite some time. The dramatic figuring gives the piece an almost glowing, tiger maple-like appearance. Likely Scandinavian, circa 1840. Purchased for $100.
