On facebook there was an ad for some blue??? stone that looks like the stars. It's really cheap. You can buy a rock for like $15.

I asked AI to create a pin using a victorian man in the moon and the rock. This is what it designed.

I've made a few rings for my wife. So, I sent this to the jeweler and she's making this for me. Sterling was kind of expensive, but affordable. 14k was $2300. I'm getting the sterling.

I don't wear any jewelry or even a watch. But, this is going on a coat. I love the moon. I've always been a night owl.

No. Green is her favorite color.

This pin is for me. I can't wait to see it. I have to get a proper coat to put it on. I used to have great coats. Then I got old.

Great design, Snow. I'm sure it will look good on a coat, a real eyecatcher.
Lapis lazuli with pyrite inclusions. Although those look slightly different from this, but AI has yet to learn that.;)

I might go for blue goldstone (glass); the copper flecks would look great too.

Funny that AI added fake patina since you asked for a historic design.

That might be what it is. It was in an ad on facebook, and I thought it was cool. Then I had AI make me the pin. The jeweler who is making it knows what stone I want. She'll do great. She always does.

It's going to look good no matter what she ends up using.

The maker sent this today. It's beautiful, and she can actually take a photo. upload_2026-5-27_9-23-57.png

She made two rings and this for me. She's made like a dozen or two rings for my brother. He told me about her.

This is a few she made for him.

Nice! I really like the first one, but then i'm an old Deco filigree addict. I would be at least, if I could afford it.

I don't know if you noticed it's engraved Evelyn 1927. That's the year our mom was born. She also set my brother on the path of gem and ring collecting.

You would be shocked at how inexpensive it is, if you know what you're doing. Just as an example. One site will sell a LG diamond for $500 (that's for a nice size diamond). The same exact stone on another will be $800. At another (fancier sites) it'll be between $2000 - $4000. Unfortunately, most people don't know about the little sites, they know the big ones. What you get from the big sites is fancy packaging. The small sites don't remove the stone from the bag they receive it in. I'll keep the extra $1500 - $3500 and not be impressed by a tiny box inside a bigger box, that's inside a bigger box. That is literally the difference.

The woman that makes this jewelry is overseas, and it's a fraction of what you'd pay here.

That's the year my aunt Florence was born too. She's still kicking in New Jersey. Mom is Evelyn, born in 1930.

If you think my photos are bad, wait till you see this video. But, the starry sparkle at points is beautiful. Unfortunately, I expected to see the specks with my bare eyes without a lot lighting. But, it just looks black or blue. But, once there's some light, it sparkles.

    Goldstone can do that.
