I found this in Burnley some time last year. It intrigued me but I thought that the ceramic was too white to have any age. Anyway, after it gathering dust on my shelf I was happy to see it go for £20 (It cost me £3). The buyer has just left feedback

"A very fine figure of a large Chinese lady, possibly dating back to the Ming Dynasty. Chips to the base, but otherwise in remarkably good condition. Secure packaging. Prompt delivery. Thank you."

Hope Ive not let a gem slip through my greasy fingers

I know nothing about the subject which doesn't stop me from sharing my ill-informed opinion. I'm seeing many sancai-glazed tomb figures on the internet and, not surprisingly, they look old. Yours doesn't.

Yes I agree. I think white porcelain only came about after a certain point in time, when they started bleaching it.

When I find a sleeper on ebay, I choose not to distress a seller by bragging about its true identity.

I once bought a book at a thrift for $2 CDN and sold it for $40 US, so although not a huge amount, in terms of profit, it was my best!

Wasn't there someone on here or even the old eBay boards years ago that sold a piece of glass on eBay for around $20 or $60 and weeks later the buyer sent them a high end auction catalogue showing the item has resold for $ thousands ?

Ah that's just really mean. Ignorance is bliss in such circumstances.

It was a female member and I recall her saying the price realised would have paid a years college or Uni fees if she had known its value.
