Featured WHAT'S THE STORY ON COOL ANTIQUE GAS POWERED IRON?

    I wanted to show you what I found at a yard sale yesterday. Googling it I know it's a gas powered clothes press/iron, but while I did find some with the brass ball in back, I didn't see any with a stainless steel/chrome iron.
    Is mine rare?
    There is no maker's mark anywhere - any way to tell who made it?
    How did it work? Did they put liquid gas or propane type gas in ball? Seems to me mixing gas & heat isn't a great idea!
    Either way - it's a cool piece, no?
