Mary Pickford is a shining example of someone who at the top of her career (until she died) was probably as big as Taylor Swift is now. Except Pickford actually had talent. Now, 97% of the population has no idea who she is. Of course most millenials don't know who Julia Roberts is, or that she also held the title America's Sweetheart. These four I've never seen before. Not in the greatest condition. But, still worth it.

The girl with Santa is the one I wanted. It was $2 and I don't pay that for a card. So, I put together a small packet and saved. This card is from 1923 and it's embossed.

These four are from the 1900s and pretty freaky. Though looking on ebay, not rare.

These are the last two. The girl in front of the church has the windows cut out, and the little branches are applied to the card, very intricate nice art for a post card.

Isn't the departing Old Year usually depicted like that?

    This is Time:

I learned something new. It seemed strange to me that New Years would include Santa Claus, but father time never dawned on me. HEY, I'M OLD, just like father time. :angelic:
That's spectacular. I'll trade the card for that cameo.

I was going to ask if you owned that, and you do. That's one of those extra special ones, the topper of a collection. I wish I had a photo of the one we lost. Brown, white and black, and a magnificent scene. I hope the thieves have died and are rotting in hell.

I do too. Adding to the sorrow is that the thief probably had no appreciation at all of its real value.

I would not be able to answer if you asked which is the single most valued piece in my collection. A number of them have something special about them apart from the monetary value of settings. A couple are not set & have some damage, yet of great interest.

The settings have never mattered to us. We personally (our tastes are completely in sync on cameos) consider the carving itself. Damaged is a shame. But, when a carving is done brilliantly it still shines through. She has some beautiful cameos, but she still needs one that shines the way that one (or the one in this post) does. I'm still looking.
