In what way are you stuck about it? Your last post in the other thread,

tells us the original is in a private collection. Yours is a copy. Copies can be made in many ways, including painting again. There are also ways to transfer a print on to canvas. Is your picture under glass?

 

Given its significant fading, I would expect it to be a print.

Ah okay. That confused me a bit thank you. Also it is not under a glass pane.

 

The canvas is nailed/stapled in so I cannot take it out of its original framing.

 

And its probably because
its from a framer and restorer shop thats why its complicated to be opened

I asked about the glass because it makes a difference in how well you would be able to tell if there are actual brush strokes discernible. We know it's a copy. The remaining question is how was it made.

I think SecretP was just acknowledging that.

 

Does SecretP own it or not? This quote makes it sound like he does:

The only other thing we might be able to tell him, if he gives us adequate info, is how the replica was created. I may be wrong that this interests him.

 

Thanks @Bronwen , I think this thread has me totally confused - between the questions asked on the other thread, and then no photos here, with scant info about who, what, where & when!

 

We'll see, but this case may be closed & OP got the info wanted.
