Older MARX toy truck

This is out of my expertise, but grabbed it at the thrift. Heavily used, but seems to have all the parts (front grill, back door, all wheels.) Fairly large toy at 12" long.

Do I call this "die cast"? I couldn't find the exact model online, although the Marx "ambulance" seems to be the same mold, just different lettering.

Any info/thoughts on this appreciated. Thanks.

 

Love the Streamline Moderne detail at the rear wheel well.

MARX made so many wonderful toys ! The Halloween Haunted house comes to mind , I had never seen that one before . Some of the toy guns , plastic even, were wonderful in the 60's and many a battle was won with them....wish I had all those great toys I had back then !

 

Firemandk, I think you are referring to the Halloween Haunted House because I had that one! (If not, quite the coincidence!)

Marx also made this van as the 'Cloverdale Farms' milk truck which had opening side doors. The wooden wheels will indicate pre WW2. . . 1937-41 most likely.
