I found this Art Piece at an Antiques Mall for $65 but unidentified as to the Artist by the Seller. I was so blown away by its perfect composition and dramatic theme and the high quality of the Litho Drawing I had to buy it! Seriously to me looks like a very important Piece possibly by a Famous Artist?? Says on back it was framed and Matted in 1968 but it has a look like it might be much earlier like the 1930's or earlier. Titled WATCHERS and says ED/15 for the number of Prints made. I just cannot Read the Penmanship of the Artist Signature! I was hoping someone could Please be able to identify the Artist for me and any IMG_WATCHERS1.JPG IMG_WATCHERS2.JPG IMG_WATCHERS3.JPG IMG_WATCHERS4.JPG other Important Information about the Piece you might know. It measures 9.5 x 8.3 inches. Subjest looks to me to be two Black Brothers and also someone in the dark background hiding possibly in a Cave and Watching out for Persuers at night under a full moon. Could they be escaped Slaves? Love to know its Story! Thank You!

he apparently was never interested in publicizing or getting recognition for his work, hence his relative obscurity upon his death in 2005.

    It is beautiful.
Given the lack of Western clothing and the shaved heads, I don't think the subject is historic North American, but more recent African.
There are very few African tribes where men shave their heads, it is usually African tribal women who shave their heads. The only tribes I can think of are in western Ethiopia.

I would have bought it too, what a great image. I wish I could draw like that. A lithograph in the purest form, I don’t run across many these days.
