THOUGHTS ON LANDSCAPE? WHICH S. GRUBER IS ARTIST?

My thrift store find of the day Fri. I'm not crazy about these type of landscapes; they look dated to me. But I liked the way the leaves are done - it reminded me of some mid century/mid century modern cityscapes I've found (I think it's like a ...quick whisking? of the brush that gives it that look - does that make sense?) It made me think of this one I posted here for some reason: https://www.antiquers.com/threads/artist-name-on-small-mid-size-mid-century-painting.37552/
Either way, any help with which Gruber is the artist (I found 2) & any thoughts on the painting itself would be greatly appreciated.
PS - I just noticed when looking for the painting on my computer the difference between photographing inside & outside - it has to be because I used my phone instead of my camera that there is so much difference, right?

Think it’s Shirley M Gruber, the composition of trees water and siggie are so similar. Sorry I can’t copy the reference but I expect you have seen the one I did online. Mon Tati Antiques.

My first thought was "factory painting"... then, like @Houseful , I thought, "it does, possibly, match up with this Shirley M piece"

And then I went and looked at stuff that actually IS by Shirley M Gruber and I think the attribution on the "antique site" is off and while your piece may match that piece, I don't think it matches Shirley Moskowitz Gruber's work. https://shirleymoskowitz.wordpress.com/

Yes, looking at her other work I think you are correct there Jivvy.
My first impression was probably factory painting and I was misled by the Antique shop.

Think you're referring to the impasto technique the artist uses.

That would explain the carved Mexican frame.

Unfortunately seems like her work doesn't show up for sale often. I couldn't find any past auction records for her work on askart or ebay. It does resemble a lot like factory art.

Not sure which "her" you're talking about, but if it's Shirley, leave off Gruber and search on Shirley Moskowitz. There are sales out there... but I think they're irrelevant to journey's piece.

We had a Painting passed down to us that looks like the work of Shirley Moskowitz or Gruber but the name on the painting is Prof. A. Gruber, the painting is 30 X 20 oil on canvas of a Winter scene titled Lake O Hara 1960. Can not find anything on an A Gruber, any thoughts

We have a painting by A. Gruber titled Lake OHara 1960 (the oil on canvas winter scene is about 24 X 32) I can not find any reference to A. Gruber but the painting style looks like Shirley Moskowitz or Gruber. Any thoughts
    Thanks

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

    Hi @penpal23 --

We'll need to see photos of your piece. There are several posts on this site that give instructions for posting photos. Welcome to Antiquers!
