hey folks, found these 2 charcoal drawings today (£3 each)

im pretty sure they have been divided as the 1st part of the sig is on the other drawing

am i right in thinking venice ? slightly abstract

i thought they were quite impressive for charcoal

    any thoughts appreciated

A street artist, I'd think. One with some architectural training which he used to (fantastical) effect. 1960s.

Thanks deb, fantastical is good way of describing them

I think your right, surely he must have used a ruler for those lines, can't see them being done freehand

And he's studied perspective. All done with a very confident, trained hand.

yeah they do look airbrushed cc, i think he must have used airbrushing techniques, maybe tape of some kind

definitely charcoal though, signed in charcoal, and smudgy

Seems to be a "style" that did well.

I simply googled "rialto bridge charcoal," ended up on ebay and went from there.

Only a quick glance, but I think these are four different artists.

thanks jivvy, odd that all have different signatures, but are pretty much the same style, wouldn't be surprised if they were all from the same chap

i think street artist is a good shout for all of them though,

Wonder if there is an art school or architectural school nearby that sends students to the same place as an assignment.
