Am I the only one that thinks this merits a bit more research? I can see why the OP posted it as a question. Would a made-in-China piece have a raised registry bar on the base? I really can't tell one way or the other from the photos regarding quality. (Could possibly be convinced with some close ups of the edge of the base or spout. Any chance for additional photos?)

One of Staffordshire's less fine moments. That's a British RD number on the base.

What the Sphinx could have looked like, if it had been done in 1950.

To be somewhat on topic, I've seen plenty of pottery I thought was a lot less attractive. Think if it didn't have that funny little handle bit, I would like OP for the colors & nautilus shape.

I was helping a nice man in my neighborhood with a yard sale, he pulled out a piece of glass saying "Here is the ugliest thing I have ever seen!" Well, I was very happy to see in and I bought it.

I sold it on eBoo for a nice price - beauty really is in the eye of the beholder :p

Here it is, a Northwood Nautilus Argonaut Custard Glass Spooner:

When I was a kid, my mother bought a tall table lamp to sit on the marble coffee table in the living room. My father always referred to as "the monstrosity". They eventually divorced. When she died, about 20 years later, guess what he asked if he could have. Uh huh. And the coffee table.
