Japanese Oribe bowl -- Can anybody read the potter's stamp?

I posted about a Japanese Oribe bowl a couple of months ago, but originally was asking how to clean it. Then later I added a question about the potter's mark that is impressed into the bottom. Nobody really answered that question and I'm hoping that somebody will at least give it a try.



I'm currently on the computer and realized that I uploaded pics of the actual pot directly from my phone.

If it's stoneware, wouldn't the peroxide treatment be something to try?

They're careful about spam. so they vet every post, which may take ~12-18 hours. When it goes live, knowledgeable folks, like with this forum, will read & some will comment (an I. Another thing to try is make a pencil drawing of the mark and then see if it pops up if you use google lens or kanji characters if there's no joy at asianarts.

 

Nice bowl! Roughly what are the dimensions?

 

It's a tea bowl... About 4.25" across the top and about 2.5" tall. The sides bulge out a little to make the middle a little wider than the top. The ring (or whatever it's called) at the bottom is about 2" across. I love it... had never heard of Oribe pottery before. Maybe will buy more sometime! I bought this at a Japanese art and antiques sale in the Sierra Nevada foothills in California while visiting a friend there in May.

 

I just sent in a post... will wait a day or so to see when it is posted. I posted two photos to begin with, because it warned me that cumulatively the three I chose were too large (although they had already been resized). Will post more later. I forgot to state the size but did mention it is a tea bowl.

I love the way that triple-dip on the glaze appears at the bottom...reminiscent of an ellipsoid, I think. Classic, imo.

 

That is nice, isn't it? The unglazed part does seem a bit grimy, though... which is why I asked about cleaning it in the original post.
