Looks like Hans Elligers (1797-1867) was listed as a Skipsreder, Son of Iver Elligers. So I would only conclude that his father was a ship owner...
Also just found out the language written could be Bokmal. A literary form of Norwegian developed by the gradual reform of written Danish.
