I’ve always specialised in ceramics but I’ve recently started to sell a little glass.

I posted a lovely Murano piece last month and that is going for auction at Bonhams next month.

I’ve also just found the following two pieces which I’ve identified as Murano.

However I am not sure about this charity shop buy. It’s 23cm tall and image searches suggest that it’s Turkish. Can anyone please confirm or offer an alternative identification please?

Agree, it looks like Turkish Pasabahce glass.

Just for intrest sake is it the “24cm tall vase that you thought was a Venetian 'Inghistera' vase by Salviati and Co, circa 1880’ that is going on auction at Bonhams? What did they say about it? Can you maybe tell us their estimate?

Yes that is it. My identification was right. The estimate is £800-£1200.

That’s great. I was just curious. Thanks. It’s a very striking vase. I hope it does very well!

The sommerso might be Mandruzzato, but many Murano and even some Swedish makers did these. I’m not convinced that amber one was made on Murano.

I think the brown might be Spanish.

    I don’t think that one’s venini either.

John’s vase has a very broken and rough pontil and the rigaree is relatively crude. The bubbles are irregular. That’s not to criticise it, but it’s simply not typical of Murano made pieces. Some Spanish and Catalan glass has a lovely almost slightly primitive look.
