This pot is ~4" max diameter, ~4" height; ~1/8" wall thickness; it weighs 7.83 oz (~222 grams). Google images shows many of this shape an' approximate size...but none of them have the ~1/2" by ~2 1/2" slots cut in through the rim, down to max diameter! Its firing was high enough to produce a sweet an' clear bell-tone when this pot is tapped with a fingernail. If the slots are to accommodate a spoon or other utensil, that Bell-like quality may be inadvertent. The pot is apparently unmarked; the bottom is slightly flattened, but remains a little rounded; it rocks, but is balanced enough to rest upright. Can anyone say what purpose this was made to fulfill, an' what the slots are for? Thanks for lookin'!

It looks like a ceramic singing bowl and the slot would be to hold the small stick used to run over the edge to produce sound. My son has one shaped like a frog
