Featured Watercolor/guoache.... Artist? Russian?

Thought this might be easy to find but no luck. Original watercolor and guoache on line-textured paper. Artist name on label on the back as shown. Gallery label for Schafer Gallery in Wheaton, IL. Found that they closed earlier this year. Consequently, I doubt this has too much age. Framing looks pretty new as well. Any ideas?





When I did an image search on the signature, one result suggest it might be Russian. Possibility, as I can't make much out of this otherwise.

 

I read signature as M Kovrigin,but no info on artist.

I think that’s exactly why I personally don’t like it that much (that hallmark Christmas card look) But I agree that it looks to be well painted.

 

Or a jigsaw puzzle.

 

I think the flamboyant hand writing style is fooling Google into thinking it's Russian. It doesn't look like Cyrillic characters to me. Nice scene. Brings a feeling of nostalgia. No idea on the artist. Crunched a few names and nothing. I don't think they will have too much online recognition. They are proficient but nothing special.

Thanks for the input. I did not see a K in this until you all pointed it out but agree that it could be. Still not finding anything and image search brings up a lot of similar things but no matches. I think the artist proficient but I get a bit of a Thomas Kinkade vibe to it. Not necessarily a good thing.... LOL! Thrift store find so not a lot invested in it and I should be able to turn a little profit from it down the road.
