Art glass marble. A marble made for decorative purposes and not for play. A lot of different makers out there.

It's an older marble has wear, lots of bubbles.I used to play marbles when I was young with my brothers and this has been used a lot.

Someone could have certainly used it, but its hand made art glass, and not terribly old. It looks quite clean to me from your photos.

Pretty sure that's just a reflection of the surroundings. Nothing in the top down view.

Looks like there could be something there. @antiquelover69 , is there any chance you can take a photo where we can see the signature better? I know, small globular glass is very difficult.

Get @Jivvy in here! She's found a new passion for marbles :) and @KikoBlueEyes?

Truly a black art, especially reading descriptions like this:

Divided Core Swirls have, as the name indicated, a core comprised of separated bands. There will be at least three and as many as six bands. The most common number is four, followed closely by three, then five and six. The bands are usually multicolored but are sometimes single colored. They may all be the same color combination but more often, particularly on the common four-band examples, have two different color combinations that alternate.

But try looking for latticinio corkscrews for starters... :)

NOW I see the etching you're talking about!!!! Will try to check it out too!

That could be a script sort of "J", maybe "e" and "l" and not sure of any of it, and couldn't bring up anything I'd be happy to post!!!!

465D69AB-AB38-4CFF-8056-68993F83F65C.jpeg So far, this is one I found for Keith Baker, but maybe there others signed differently. Or maybe someone else has this same pattern as above. (For signature purposes only)

She fell into a marble hole, by way of abdel's orange peel pearl.

    Possibly her passion's been slaked - I dunno ;)
