Featured Chair transforms into a flat surface

    I am currently emptying out my Grandmother's house and came across this chair that folds out to make a flat surface. It has a lot of the mechanics of a ladder chair, but obviously a bit more simple in what it morphs in to. Could very well be something made by one of my relatives, but I wanted to check to see if I was missing information on it's name or purpose. Any information you all have is very much appreciated.

    It's called metamorphic, but not a form I've seen before. I suspect it was put together from two chairs.

    Think you had a very inventive family member. I don't think that was a production piece.

    Perfect for a tiny apartment! I wonder if it was used in a kitchen as a step stool ?
