The top left foot has numbers and something smudged out.. not sure if it says "Italy", and the bottom left foot looks like it has something on it.

I don't think this will help much but I posted an orange bull, with broken horn, years ago that Walter was kind enough to comment on. He didn't feel mine was Bitossi, however, I mention mine because the number on the belly of mine looks quite similar to the number on the foot of yours. (can't say for sure though)

Someone also provided a link to a facebook group to ask though I never followed up on that.

Sadly, Walter is no longer with us.

interesting sis, i can understand why someone would think not with that one, but think that might be just the camera shot of it.

does yours have (or did have) the same flat ended head front as the OPs one ?

Turns out I still seem to have it though living in my basement hasn't done it any favors. I don't know exactly what a flat ended head front is but do these help?

I didn't mean to make this about me (or my bull) but the numbers on mine's belly sure look about the same. Even below the numbers on the foot of OP's it looks like it might say Italy.

yeah i think i agree with walter on that one, the decorational bits don't look quite right to me either

i would want to question it as well because there are similarities, but doesn't quite pull that look off well enough

the one colour/shade glaze on yours does it no favours of course......might that be the main difference between the look?.......possibly

Welcome.Elle6154 to the forum.I agree with Charlie, your Bitossi bull appears to be authentic,as it has the form number 4527 and Italy marks on its front foot. Its a very nice piece.

Not sure AJ maybe some of the information may come from Mark Hills book on 1950s- 70s Italian ceramics Alla Moda.
