Taxco top.jpg Taxco markings for review.jpg Taxco markings for review 2.jpg Hello. Would love to know more about this bracelet. It has been safely stored for many years at my home. It is marked Mexico; Taxco; Hecho; 925. There also appears to be a small artist's mark. I am thinking the green stones are probably onyx, but not sure. Please see photos. Would appreciate any information! Thank you!

Gosh, I'm afraid your photos are too small to be much help!

So called Mexican onyx is actually dyed travertine/calcite.

Your photographs are too small to see but... Probably 1950s. The mark should read "Hecho en México" which means "Made in Mexico". Appears to be similar to this one, unsold on eBay. Item #205717219353

I am so sorry about the photos....I just now tried to make them bigger -- any better now? I am just learning how to do this -- I will keep trying. When I initially tried to upload the photos, it said they were too big. So, I made them smaller but I guess I made them too small!

Taxco makers also used glass sometimes.

    I suspect they're glass.

Have the metal tested. I have had similar bracelets in the past, some were silver, some marked silver were not :(

If resale is your objective. If it's a family piece with sentimental value, just wear and enjoy. That said... It's not as finely made as similars of the era and I suspect it's not silver. Here's the unsold example from eBay (which the seller photographed upside down.) It doesn't have the appearance of silver either.

Seconded. A lot of these were "beach silver", aka alpaca with false markings.
