I would appreciate your help with the attribution of a porcelain figurine depicting a Napoleonic-era soldier.

The figurine was purchased at a flea market and had a label stating: Capodimonte, 19th century. On the base there is a mark in the form of a crown above the letter N (see photos).

Is it really possible to attribute this piece to 19th-century Capodimonte production?

i'd be VERY surprised if it wasn't 19th or thereabouts. the mark looks painted as well (not stamped)

don't know much about Capodimonte, but looks good to me for age...and quite lovely as well

I don't think I've ever handled an old piece of real Capodimonte nor do I have any particular knowledge of this type of porcelain.

That said, the crown N has been used by many companies over the years. Using the online source examples of Capodimonte marks, yours doesn't look right to me and would have to date late 18th-early 19th C. I'm not the right person to say it doesn't so hopefully someone can say one way or the other.

Here is a link to a previous discussion with some links to other Crown N marks if it helps.

One of the most copied marks around, so caution is the word. Pretty hefty price IMHO.
