Hi all, I've posted here before about my silver collection. I've sold some of it already, but I want to put a lot on eBay. 150+ items at the moment. I thought I had quite a high price for some early items, but they've sold almost immediately after I've put them for sale, making me think the price was in fact a bit too low.

I simply don't know how to price them beyond looking at the value of the silver and similar items for sale already.

Is there anyone who can help me accurately price the items? I have high res images with hallmarks mostly visible, I will have to send a WeTransfer link as it's a large amount of pics.

    if they didn't sell
then the price was too high
if they sold fast , then the price was too low....

there doesn't seem to be a happy medium with that thinking...

I'm sure there is a happy medium somewhere between selling within minutes, and not selling at all! There's one pillbox I put for £60, but then I actually found similar ones for £75+ so I'm not that far behind the 'real' value I suppose

I have had silver items that sat for months, and then suddenly four bids came in in a two day period.

With sterling on Ebay if you don't know value, one idea is to list as an auction with important wording and weight included in the subject line. Sounds like you have good photos of hallmarks, etc. Then the market gives you top dollar at that moment in time. If you can find recent exact comparables sold, you can list as a BIN of course, but if you don't know value, and auction is the way to go with something like sterling, IMO. Just be sure to use correct wording in the subject line and description.
