I'm sending 18 ltd ed prints and one drawing to auction, along with what ever fits in a box I choose.....that I can live with not getting a good price for, and giving someone else the chance at a great deal.

Which , .... is a hard thing for me to do , as most of my lesser items.....are long gone.

I've been sitting here for a few hours a day, culling my bead and "pieces" stash. Some things went to the donate pile intact - things I bought to take apart and never did. A small baggie or so went straight to trash....and about a supermarket shopping bag full is in the Donate pile. In with the junk were an artisan sterling ring, handed to my sister, and a mint condtion rhinestone flower pin . The pin is my New for Easter "clothing".

I personally feel like Estate Sales today are only worth going to if you are buying items for yourself. As others have mentioned, the sellers have done their homework, so there is little resale opportunity. At least in my area.

It depends on who's running the show, and on what YOU know. If you have to look things up on your phone, stay home. If you have a brain and can spot the mistakes, it's worth going. I've gotten more stuff from "experts" that way, including some junk(!!!) 18k chains in the Costume pile in an antique store.

IMG_0305-compressed.jpeg This is why I love estate sales in my area. I really like mid century brass and glass. I bought all this for eight dollars this morning. Plus yesterday I mentioned to my reseller friend that I needed a pair of spiny oyster earrings and a bracelet. He brought me the earrings today. Says he will bring me the next bracelet he finds. He always says no charge, but I will give him something next week. Probably the gold chain that I bought last week. I think I paid 2 dollars for it. Seller didn’t know that 585 is the same as 14k.

I saw an MCM lamp recently that I would have bought if it wasn't $25

The birds were a good deal; brass has been hot for a while.

Thanks Komo and Any! I loved the earrings too. They are signed Betty Joe Navajo. My friend is retired and does estate sales and reselling full time. He sees the value in stuff, but almost never gets attached to items. I am the opposite, I get attached to everything. I am not a good reseller. There are good people and bad people everywhere and in every profession.

I always buy brass and uranium glass. Of I decided not to keep it then it is an easy sell.

I love lamps!! Almost all my lamps are mid century. I usually pay $15 to $25 for them. Two of my lamps I paid over that for. Here is my most recent $25 dollar lamp. If I decide to sell it I know that I can get more for it. IMG_0308-compressed.jpeg

I think they stand like that because they need to warm their little behinds.

Better? Now you can see their cute faces and feathers. And yes, I am aware that my cabinet needs refinishing. I am already looking for a replacement. Just can’t find one that I like. IMG_0314-compressed.jpeg
