I found a football helmet for $5 in an estate sale once. Gave it to a friend for Christmas, and ... I found his white whale. It sat on his Treasures shelf in his office, front and center, until he retired. Player grade helmets aren't cheap, and it's his team. He's still got it.

Dallas Cowboys. I'm in Connecticut, so finding it here was a surprise.

I had a sorority convention to attend, two hours away, left Friday. There was a church sale, I was going to skip it, but went out late. Somehow this was still there for $2, Los Angeles Potteries Welcome cookie jar. I will clean it up and donate it to my food pantry thrift shop.

$95 resizing fee later, I finally got my diamond constellation ring resized so I can wear it.

Awesome! You will forget that fee after you start wearing it! Did you get the ring for a good deal?

Yahoo! It sure beats paying for a new ring.

I think so....14k, diamonds, $700 at an antique mall. I rarely see jewelry that I absolutely have to have anymore, but this was one of those pieces.

    A STEAL!!!

I took my wife to an estate jewelry store years ago and she picked a finely crafted chain with a large amethyst. They estimated early 20s. Hard to beat that with new stuff.

Some recent finds. Eric Williams totem, Richard Marshall goblets and mugs, Edouard Rambaud earrings, a smattering of gold scrap, gemstone necklaces, Mario Bellini for Bitossi big pot, and blue glass decanter. Internet says the decanter was a Downey Softener promotional item. Who knew?

Bitossi isn't my thing, but I bet you paid well under market rate...which is my Thing in spades.

Generally I do like Bitossi, but this piece doesn't do much for me.

Did not know the figures at the top were called watchmen, good to know, thanks Komo.

I had a really bad week thrifting and antiquing, not because of lack of finds (there's that), but experiences. I just happened to be walking down the street and there was a sidewalk sal

Lumii_20260425_100016508.jpg Lumii_20260425_100056167.jpg e at a store. Not antiques, but quite a find for a total of $34. On one table, everything was $2. The men's fragrances are mostly full testers. The grapefruit fragrance sells for $22. I make a basket for my friends who visit yearly from Alaska. The soaps will go in that basket. The earrings retail for $35 each. The vintage watch band was $3, but I had coupons, so it was free. I collect these and old ladies watches for a person who makes jewelry out of them and I sell them to her.
