I have a sterling silver fringe or Cleopatra necklace with hallmarks for Spain , initials for the maker are Spain JLF which are the initials of a famous Mexican silversmith . Anyone know if he used Spain in his hallmarking any help appreciated . IMG_7833.jpeg IMG_7831.jpeg

    Elegant necklace with puzzling marks.
The JLF mark looks like the one for José Luis Flores, but I can't explain the SPAIN mark, nor what looks like a badly stamped Eagle 5. Afaik José Luis Flores didn't use Eagle 5.
Not a famous one per sé, but he is known. He worked for some famous makers and usually copied their styles. I have never seen this style from him, his work is usually more Mexican looking.

Agree, a Spanish maker would be more likely, there are too many discrepencies for it to be by José Luis Flores.

That is not a clasp he would have used either.

Lobster claws like that are 1990s and later. Mexican Eagle marks stopped in 1978. I don't see anything pre-1990s about the way the necklace is finished, although the design itself could be from the 1970s.
